Welcome to the Cary Junior High Athletics page. Before our athletes hit the field or the court, please ensure your student has a current physical on file with the school nurse, as this is required for all tryouts and team participation.
Note: If matches or games are ever rescheduled due to weather or scheduling conflicts, coaches will inform team members as soon as possible. Have a great season!

Athletic Fees:
The athletic program is a fee based program, meaning that the $100 fee paid by athletes cover the full cost of the program. Below is a breakdown of programs, the grade levels involved, and the number of participants. The $100 fee is due at the end of the first week of practice. Athletes will be unable to practice or participate until all fees are paid.
Requirements for Participation:
- Payment (check made out to Cary Junior High for $100 or paid online throught Infinite Campus)
- Concussion Form
- Parent Permission Form
- Physical Form Note: A sports physical is normally good for a year.

Cross Country is all about Running!
Our season starts right at the beginning of the year. If you love the outdoors and you love to run, give Cross Country a try.
Cros Country is for Grades. 6, 7, & 8 with unlimited participants.

We compete with both a 7th grade and 8th grade Boys Basketball Teams (auditioned). This is a great opportunity to learn about teamwork, perseverance, and build your skills on the court.
Boys Basketball is a fall sport (October-December) for grades 7 & 8 with 32 participants

Poms Squad - Entirely SPIRITED!
Dragon Spirit leads the hype of the crowds at the Boys Basketball Games. The emerging activity is a great opportunity for student leadership and anyone who wants to shape the future of this activity. Here, you'll develop a strong sense of teamwork, utilize your creativity, and be a leader in the school! You can see the Dragon Spirit Team at Home Boys Basketball Games!
Dragon Spirit is a fall sport (November) for grades 6,7, & 8 with 25 participants

Track and Field at Cary Junior High is open to all students grades 6-8! Master your skills in one of the following events:
- Hurdles
- Sprints
- Relays
- High Jump
- Long Jump
- Triple Jump
- Discus
- Shotput
Track and Field is a Spring Sport and a great way to finish the school year. Persevere as you conquer your personal records and work as a team to win meet after meet!

We'll serve up the best volleyball experience in the land!
Cary Junior High competes with both 7th grade & 8th Grade Girls teams (auditioned). We also have in-house volleyball open to all students grades 6-8. If you're reading to jump on the court, work with an awesome team, and build your skills with the volleyball, then come and join the teams!
Volleyball is a Fall Sport (September-October) for grade 7 & 8 for 32 participans.

Wrestling at Cary Junior High is open to all students grades 6-8
No prior experience is required, step onto the mat for the first time and we'll guide you through te basics. Or, come in as a vet, master the advanced techn iques, and be a leader on the team! No matter what, participation in the CJH Wrestling team leaves you with strong friendships, skills on the mat, and well earned confidence! Wresting is a winter sport (January-February) with 20 or more participants.
